Joe Davies Chorus Rules
During the school year, practices will be once a week, before
school from 7:00 a.m. until 8:05 a.m. in the music room. A
monthly calendar will be sent home indicating practices and
performances.
Chorus is commitment. As such, members will be unable to split
time with any group during our regularly scheduled Tuesday
rehearsals.
There will be several rehearsals that fall outside of the regular
Tuesday practices. These rehearsals are also mandatory.
Music tracks will be provided on Ms. Jaymi Crifasi’s teacher
page. The teacher page is located on the Davies Website.
You must drop off your child ON TIME for EVERY practice.
Students are only allowed to miss three rehearsals per school
year. Any more will result in dismissal.
If the rehearsal prior to a performance is missed for ANY reason,
the student will not be able to participate in the upcoming
performance.
If a student does not know the lyrics AND choreography with
80% accuracy by the last rehearsal before a performance, that
student will be unable to perform in the upcoming performance.
Students are only allowed to miss ONE performance per school
year. Reason does NOT matter for why a performance is missed.
Any more will result in dismissal.
Absences may be excused if a DOCTOR’S NOTE is provided.
However, if it is a practice before a performance, the student will
NOT be able to perform with the chorus. The performance will
also be excused.
Everyone is responsible for purchasing and wearing Chorus
Uniforms.
You MUST be in proper chorus attire BEFORE attending any
performance. If you come to a performance missing uniform
parts, you will NOT be allowed to perform.
In the event of an absence, Ms. Crifasi must be notified ahead of
time.
If a student has 2 or more write ups, he/she will be dismissed from
the chorus.
Suspensions, for any reason, will result in an automatic dismissal
from chorus.
Students MUST maintain C’s or better on progress reports and
report cards (in all subjects) or he/she will be placed on probation
until grades improve.
Probations that continue for more than 4 weeks will result in
dismissal from the chorus.
We are a reflection on the school, so proper behavior must be
displayed at all times. Negativity or arguing will not be tolerated.
